EVERYBODY NEEDS...

A GOOD ADVISE

When my sister call me to “vent out” her complains and frustrations concerning a situation that tested her patience. I would sometimes be left in awe and come up with nothing to say.

Like computer processor, sometimes, it is hard for me to process all the data
she had feed in all at once and come up with “a good advice”, comment or reply and she would later say. “Ano ka ba, Ate! Ang dami ko na sinabi sa iyo, wala ka man lang sagot dyan!”

My sister, being at the 30’s, is still my young sister and I would not give her any advises that would leave her astray. (Because I love her so much) So during the times that she is like this, I would try my best to switch my mind and mouth from getting along with her anger to what the Lord would want me to be. Following the verse I read today,

Proverbs 10:11

New International Version (NIV)
11 The mouth of the righteous is a fountain of life,
but the mouth of the wicked conceals violence

Magandang Balita Biblia (TPV)
Ang bibig na matuwid ay bukal ng buhay, ngunit ang labi ng masama ay nagtatakip ng karahasan.

I should always try to give a good advice to my sister to let us both walk in the path of righteousness as the Lord God wants us to be. My mouth should speak of what is good for her and what could tame her down rather than add up to her anger.

Prayer:
Our Heavenly Father, Bless all the people around us that teaches us good things and guide us in our ways. Bless our parents that admonished us to get us into the right path. Bless our Pastors, Priests, brothers and sisters and friends who give us good advice and words that would help give us good life and harmony, I commend their mouth, Oh Lord as they speak of your righteousness. Let their voice be heard so that they can help many. Teach me Lord to be righteous, that my mouth speaks of what is good and can contribute life rather than destruction. In Jesus name I pray. Amen.

Lesson Learned:
Let thee mouth be a blessing to others.

  3. I hope your sister has got her problems solved. I agree that we should always be cautious in giving advise. In the same way, we should also be careful from whom we ask advice from. The best is seeking godly advice at all times.

  6. Ay, there's so much wisdom in this post for me. Kasi I'm the type of person who speaks her mind without mulling over it first. What a good reminder from God. :-)

  7. Words that come from us should build up others. It really is wise to think first before we say anything, especially when we're overcome by emotions.

  8. And I am guilty sometimes. But when we acquaint ourselves to the Word of God, it only becomes natural for us to only speak good of others. Thank you for a blessed reminder Glenda.=)

  10. Wow, for me, I often blurt out what I think first, then rethink and process. You give great advice if you take the time to digest what you're hearing.

    1. Aw, it's hard...but we would try to do our best for the people we care and with a great amount of help from the Lord because as human, we are bound to make mistakes...sometimes it is hard to think that what we made cannot be undone...that's what hurts the most sometimes. We just have to keep on learning! God guide us! God bless!

  11. A lot of times it is easier to just agree to be angry too or to 'sundot' the complaint or the whining. But you're right, we must speak only that which will lead to the right path. :)
