A SECRET

Can you keep a secret?

Proverbs 10:9
Whoever walks in integrity walks securely,
but whoever takes crooked paths will be found out.

Salin sa Magandang Balita Biblia:
Kawikaan 10:9
Ang namumuhay ng tapat ay pinaghaharian ng kapayapaan, ngunit ang may likong landas ay malalantad balang araw.

Personal Application:
Being silent is different from keeping a secret.

“I kept no secret for there is no thought you have not known”…a line in the song “ With All My Heart”...one that I often sung in church mostly during our Vesper Service.

Can we really keep a secret?

Not from God.

It is not in my nature to share my real feelings and as a result I kept it as a secret… but little by little I have learned to share. Blogging made me share some of my secrets…my hidden feelings, my thoughts and ideas…being able to share it felt like freedom. I am not holding anything against anyone and I feel peace and comfort…and I love it! It feels like saying “Hey! This is me! It is all that I am. Take it or leave it, it’s all there.”

I want this feeling to last. I think it is best not to welcome negative thoughts, ignore bad ideas and disregard those who would encourage us to do wrong or feel bad…thus we can encourage them to follow the will of the Lord instead and help them be happy. We should not keep this good news. We should share. We should not keep ill-feelings and we must avoid mischief.

Prayer:
Our heavenly Father, Thank You for providing me a way to gain peace and happiness. Thank you for the freedom that I felt…for the integrity…honesty…for the love You have given me. Thank You for the warning that I should keep in mind to follow Your straight path... Forgive me, Lord, if I was astray. Guide me, Oh, Lord for I am not perfect. I am giving it all to you, Lord God, and putting my life in Your hands. In Jesus name I pray. Amen

Lesson Learned:
The real secret in life is by not keeping a secret at all.

  1. Blogging is a good way to start opening up because you can be anonymous if you want. You control what information you give out there. Sharing a little bit of yourself can be a relief especially when you are troubled.

  11. I have been blogging regularly for ten months, and although I have shared a lot, I have recently limited putting personal photos and details. The blogosphere is a jungle, and although blogging gave me the freedom to be more carefree than I am in real life, I take real care in not exposing much of me and my kids in public :)

  14. Once in my life, I got tempted to post in Facebook almost every thought I had, every rant and the like. But I learned in the end, that the best person to share the inner me is with my own Creator. Yes, you are right sis. Welcome to blogging!

  16. ohh i am for you, during my first year - i am having a second thought whether to share all my thoughts on my blogs. Yet, i find it a passion sharing my life's chronicles. Anyway, it's just how your readers perceived it. For as long as you're sharing from the heart then you have no problem with that.

  17. That's true, we cannot keep secrets from God. Regarding blogging and sharing about your personal life, I believe that you can set limits. It really depends on you. I've been blogging since last year only but I am conscious not to share too much about my hubby and kids. But more on the experience that we had about what I'm writing about. :)

    TumugonBurahin
  18. like you, i'm not the type who shares most of my personal life in public. that's why you can't see any status update from me on social media like FB. when i started blogging, it somehow changed everything. yes, i still don't update status in social media like FB but i share some of my personal life in blogging, which somehow is an avenue for me to let go of things that i wanted to say. i try my best to limit though especially about my husband and baby. :-)

  19. Yes, my life is an open book in God's eyes, but even so, He still encourages us to talk with Him and open up to Him, to seek Him each time. It might be easy for me to keep secrets now that I am more mature because I will soon forget about it, haha!

  21. It's easy to spill other people's secrets for the sake of gossip but it is better to keep our mouths shut. I can keep a secret and I trust that is what God wishes us to do too.

  22. If we decide so, we can keep secrets...but if there is a need to do so, I guess that is where our choice to do so or not matters...

    TumugonBurahin
  23. I believe we can keep some secrets because there are things in our lives that are not for public awareness. But we cannot keep anything from God and that's the good thing about keeping our integrity. We know that someone knows so we try to keep our paths straight. God bless po.

  26. You could say I am more open when I write things rather than speak things out. Still in blogging, I only choose what I want to share to everyone. There are things that I still keep to myself and those very, very close friends. I guess, we ration out those personal things according to the audience. :-)

  29. I agree. For me blogging has been my therapy. As a stay at home mom, I vent out, talk about, and blog about what is usually the running thought in my head for that day. Even if my blog isn't popular, earning, or anything I'm happy that it is out there.
