Maang-maangan

Proverbs 11:11

11 Through the blessing of the upright a city is exalted,
but by the mouth of the wicked it is destroyed.
New International Version (NIV)

Kawikaan 11:11 (Tagalog) Magandang Balita Biblia (TPV)
11 Dahil sa salita ng matuwid ang bayan ay tumatatag, ngunit sa kasinungalingan ng masama ang lunsod ay nawawasak.

White, yellow, slight or simple...no matter how we call “lies” it does not change that fact that it is a LIE.

An act of denial or in filipino “maang-maangan”, is an act of pretending not to know a certain things. In the course of our life, I believe a lot of us had done this. Pretending not to know an incident or a fact when asked means we are already doing this act.

In the business world, there are a lot of actors and actresses who are good in this act. Even to those who say they hate people that act or committed “maang-maangan” had done it a lot of times themselves and I say by declaring such hatred in public could made them a hypocrite in the eyes of those who knew better.

Act of denial, pretending is equivalent to making lies. Bible says  but by the mouth of the wicked it is destroyed”. A dreadful effect a LIE can do. A lie can only break and destroy…let us try to avoid it whenever we can.

But no matter how a fellowman committed this act or not, only GOD can make the final judgment. Let us not be the one to judge other people. We are not here in this world to judge but to help and love. We ought to teach others not punish. We should help each other and not lift our selves proclaiming to be the righteous one who hate those who commit mistakes.

No one is perfect. We can only try our best to be, but only GOD is perfect.

  2. I agree with Lin. It is also in the Bible that if you can't be trusted in small thing, how can you be trusted in big things. :) Let's all stay inspired!

  3. Great wisdom again coming from you, Ms. Glen. I am guilty of lying, but like what they say, the one who says he's not lying is lying. I'm glad God is gracious enough to fill our shortcomings.

  4. Right, it is God who judges all. We cannot condemn others but only try to correct them.

  7. I won't lie about lying sometimes. Most of them it is about hiding the truth for world peace. I do not offer information unless I am asked to and unless I think it is necessary to divulge.

  8. i think it's human nature already to resort to lying. but the purest of intentions are only because they don't want to hurt the feelings of others.

  9. I agree with everyone, a lie is still a lie no matter what our reason is. All of us are guilty with telling white lies, we are just really blessed that we have a forgiving God.
