THE DOOR

Who are the people who hated the righteous?

Proverbs 10:28-29

New International Version (NIV)
See: www.biblegateway.com

28 The prospect of the righteous is joy,
but the hopes of the wicked come to nothing.
29 The way of the Lord is a refuge for the blameless,
but it is the ruin of those who do evil.

Kawikaan 10:28-29 (Tagalog)
Magandang Balita Biblia (TPV)

The door says “PULL” but people tend to push it anyway, they have read the sign but ignored it and do their own thing to their own pleasure and when someone remind us that what we did was wrong, we tend to hate the person who corrected us.
Why?
Do we like our hopes came to nothing because we are wicked? (verse 28)
Should we hate the people who are righteous because we admit we are evil? (verse 29)
The door says “PULL” but still they push it. There would be a time that someone would get hurt by this and violators can either hurt themselves or other people.
If the door is our life and God instructed us to pull ourselves out of sins… shouldn’t we follow it?
Let us keep our DOORS in the right path…
So don’t PUSH it, OK?

Let us pray…

Our Father God in heaven, Thank you so much for all the blessing we received today. Forgive us, Lord, if there are times that we do not listen. We want our hopes to happen and we seek joy in our lives. Teach us to love You more and may we find in our hearts to follow you at all times. Should we be corrected by You and our brethren or fellowmen, may our minds be broad to understand and ask forgiveness rather than hate. Deliver us from evil, Lord.  In Jesus name we pray. Amen.

  1. Yes, I can quite relate. Sometimes, we can easily get hurt because we were corrected. That is pride, it's hard to admit that we were wrong. But if we really ponder on the event and to why we were corrected, we can somehow appreciate that person who corrected us.

    1. Turning against the person who corrected us makes us evil as mentioned in verse 29. It is really good to ponder on the event...tama ka. Acceptance and changing to be better is one way to appreciate rather than make a move to make ourselves right. :)

  2. Nice post again Glenda. I've learned that pride and being righteous will bring me to nowhere so I always do a self check to make sure that I don't offend other people with my attitude.

    1. ok lang ang righteous, wag lang siguro ang self righteous. Also if we are for the Lord, I feel "pride" would be erased in our hearts kahit pa little by little, then LOVE would take over then humility and so on..

    1. Hmmm..that is a different point of view.We cannot push ourselves to sin to gain freedom and sovereignity..perhaps this is a different story na.

  6. Most of the people kasi mapride. So when they are corrected sumasama ang loob nila. Meron talaga tayo who is not open to criticism kahit pa it's for their own goods. It will take a while for them to realize it's for their improvement.

    1. Sad to say ... ganoon na nga. We would only realize practicing humility if we come to God and accept that we are not perfect and need to be cleansed and corrected.

  7. Pride is something which makes one want to rebel It can be so hard to be humble but once achievable it will make you a better person.

  8. A person who's open to be corrected is usually the person who learns more in life. Humility and having a teachable spirit are the things we need to cultivate.

  9. i agree, there are some people na mas pinapairal ang pride nila when they are corrected. i'm sure they somehow know naman that it's for their own sake din yun. i hope those people would realize how to be humble in situations like this.

    1. Sometimes, it is really confusing because most of us had the tendency to "push" all doors...we need to take cautions.

  16. I hope that people would follow instructions, most importantly, God's instructions. I wish we were doing according to God's will, even the dreams that we're following.

  20. True. I've been guilty of that a lot of times before because I was a victim of pride. The analogy of push and pull is very simple but realistic!

  21. pride often gets the best of us and this becomes our downfall. human nature is to be defensive when our attention is called... it takes a lot to practice humility but it can be done.
